🍯 Ancient Vines & Desert Bees: A Day in the Nitzana region🌵
We had an incredible day exploring the hidden gems of the Nitzana Border region, blending hands-on learning with a deep dive into local history.
🐝 Beekeeping Workshop
The day kicked off with a fascinating practical workshop led by Maya Toren. Getting up close with the hives was important for understanding the rhythm of the bees and their vital role in our ecosystem.
🏺 Heritage & Agriculture
From hives to vines! We visited a local farm that is doing something truly miraculous: cultivating vines grown from seeds dating back to the Byzantine era. Ancient agricultural wisdom that once flourished here.
🏛️ Exploring the Landmarks
The journey continued through some of the region's most iconic sites:
Tel Nitzana: Climbing to the top offered us a breathtaking, panoramic view of the desert expanse. The ruins tell a story of ancient travelers and frontier life that spans centuries.
The Pillars of Peace:** We concluded at this striking desert sculpture by Dani Karavan.
The monument consists of 100 columns inscribed with the word "Peace" in various languages, stretching toward the border as a powerful symbol of hope and bridge-building.
A huge thank to
